Frequently asked questions:

Q: How can I speak to someone regarding the program or just booking a stay without training?

A: Please use the contact form below, or you can call us at 646-915-2656. We are excited to address any questions to help you plan the vacation that works for your travel party.

Q: What’s the best way to get to the property?

A: The property has ample parking spaces. Map driving GPS to 13 Simmons St, Saugerties, NY 12477. The house is less than two hours drive from NYC. You will drive up a private gravel road between house 11 & 15 on Simmons St.

Alternatively, Amtrak from Moynihan Station (NYC Penn Station) to Rhinecliff station, and 25 minute Uber ride to the house. Dog(s) traveling on Amtrak and Uber would need to comply with travel rules. Amtrak, with reservation, allows pet under 20 pounds to travel in carrier with small fee. Uber Pets service is available in Saugerties and surrounding areas.

Q: Where does my dog sleep at night?

A: We believe our dog(s) is family and we are meant to share experiences as much as possible. We will provide a dog bed in each room but every dog is welcome to share the bed with you. We do ask that your dog remains in your room, under your charge, overnight.

Q: How are meals arranged?

A: As per program, host will be providing basic breakfast items in a communal kitchen setting. Guests are welcome to bring your own ingredients and cook at the full kitchen separate apartment or at the main house kitchen. We recommend checking out neighborhood restaurants for lunch and dinner. Many local restaurants are pet-friendly with outdoor seating. Or, order Uber Eats delivery to stay on property to relax. We do offer dog sitting ($20 +tax per hour) while human members explore local areas.

For your dog’s meals, please bring their regular food to ensure no surprises from diet changes. Every dog is provided with a food bowl and water bowl.

Q: Is alcohol allowed?

A: We adopt BYOB (bring your own booze) but request for responsible behaviors at all times.

Q: Is this program suitable for all dogs? How do I know if another dog participating is not aggressive?

A: We do ask that owners understand that some dogs simply do not do well with traveling or with spending time with new people and/or new dogs. All participating families are asked to fill out a questionnaire so our trainer can customize training sessions that enriches all participants. In addition, each family signs an agreement, taking responsibilities for the behavior of respective traveling party – human and dog.

Q: Are there any requirements for my dog to participate in the program?

A: All dogs must be over 6 months of age, spayed/neutered, dog friendly, and up to date on these four vaccinations: Rabies (valid from 1-3 years), DHPP (valid from 1-3 years), Bordetella (valid up to 1 year), and Canine Influenza (valid 1 year). We also ask that your pup is up to date on their flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Your dog’s vaccination report is required for record keeping, per State regulation.

Q: I am traveling with additional human or dog, but they are not participating in the training sessions. Is this allowed?

A: The program and room type charge is predetermined to cover specific number of people and dog. Additional guest and dog will be charged the same rate ($300 +tax per additional person & $90 +tax per additional dog) whether they participate in training sessions or prefer to sit out to relax on property. The charges are also applicable for person or dog staying part time during the program. Note that each room type has capacity limitation.

Q: What is your reservation policy?

A: Reservations are required as we can only accept a small number of pre-screened participants. Payment is due in full at the time of booking to hold the reservation but is refundable should you need to cancel. Cancellation requests must be requested 7 days before program date.

Q: Am I able to purchase photos from our stay?

A: Yes! We will be loading digital photos on website via log-in access. You can download hi-resolution digital copy from the website.

Q: What happens if I don’t pack enough food or need supplies during our stay?

A: We are 20 minutes away from Kingston, NY where you will find all big name stores for your shopping convenience.
